what you give your attention to (that to which you direct your attention)".
Implied by this statement is the converse: you need to choose
what you with-hold your attention from
(that from which you with-hold your attention).
This principle applies not only to what happens
in your field of experience, externally -
the events that unfold in your life, around you,
but to what happens within you.
It applies to your thoughts and to your feelings.

(1990) I dreamed. The prominent personality in my dream was Robin Williams.
We were touring an ecological farm.
Elliot Ness (of the untouchables) was operating the farm.
Many of the principles I had taught were being followed,
but with odd distortions, crowding, force feeding, etc.
Species were brought together to create a kind of ecological web,
but it was like a cartoon simplification.
The ecological points were made, but there were other points also made
which were about how the distortions enter our consciousness.

(1990) I had just turned. I was reading . . . transmission of the mind.
As I sat there reading, the lamp between the swivel rocker
in which Bryce was playing and the fireplace turned off.
This was the only electrical device in our home that went off.
An electric clock plugged into the same outlet did not go off.
I was quite suspicious that there was some fault with the lamp
since it had been knocked over a few weeks previously
and suffered some damage.
We had not yet replaced the lamp however.

(1970) Late April of '69 I arrived in New Jersey, was picked up at the airport
by David Katzen-ellen-bogen and an industrial designer friend of his.
They took me to Dr. Laidlaw's office where I was introduced
to three people with whom I rode in the back seat talking,
eventually him questioning, my answering,
until he rather exclaimed he'd found himself fascinated,
but it was a little too much too fast.
